Nvidia temporarily shuts Dubai offices, Amazon tells employees to work remotely amid tensions in West Asia

High tech companies, together with Nvidia and Amazon, have urged staff in Dubai to work remotely amid the continuing battle in West Asia after joint US-Israel strikes on Iran over the weekend.

Chip large Nvidia quickly shut down its Dubai workplaces and had staff work remotely, in response to a CNBC report citing an e mail despatched by CEO Jensen Huang to all staff early Tuesday.

Huang stated in his memo that Nvidia’s disaster administration workforce has been “working across the clock and actively supporting affected staff and their households” within the area, together with round 6,000 Nvidia staff based mostly in Israel.

Huang was quoted as saying that, as of Tuesday morning, all Nvidia staff affected by the battle and their rapid households had been protected.

The e-commerce large operates company workplaces within the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Turkey and Israel. It additionally operates warehouses and knowledge centres throughout the area, in addition to “fast commerce shops” within the UAE to facilitate 15-minute deliveries.
