Are commodity markets MCX and NCDEX closed on January 1, 2026? Check here

India’s largest non-agri commodity change – The Multi Commodity Alternate of India (MCX) will likely be open for buying and selling within the first session between 9 am and 5 pm and can shut throughout the night session. The biggest agri commodity change, the Nationwide Commodity & Derivatives Alternate (NCDEX), will even open within the morning session whereas observing a vacation within the night session.

All intraday commodity positions will likely be squared off at 4:50 PM.

Most main world inventory and commodity markets will stay shut for buying and selling on Thursday, January 1. The markets in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, France, Germany, the UAE, UK and the US will likely be closed on the primary day of the brand new 12 months. In the meantime, the bourses in China and Japan can have an prolonged New 12 months vacation on Friday, January 2.

For MCX, the night session timing is 5 pm to 11:30/ 11:55 pm, whereas for NCDEX, it’s between 5 pm and 9 pm and the morning classes for each start at 9 am.

Bakri Id, Might 28: MCX to stay closed within the morning session and open within the night session.10. Moharram, June 26: Closed in morning session and will likely be open within the night.11. Ganesh Chaturthi, September 14: Closed in morning session and will likely be open within the night.12. Mahatma Gandhi, Jayanti, October 2: Closed in morning session and will likely be open within the night.13. Dussehra, October 20: Closed in morning session and will likely be open within the night.14. Diwali-Balipratipada, November 10: Closed in morning session and will likely be open within the night.15. Guru Nanak, Jayanti, November 24: Closed in morning session and will likely be open within the night.16. Christmas, December 25: Closed in each classes.

Except for January 1, NCDEX will stay closed on the above dates in each classes.

Muhurat buying and selling will likely be carried out on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The timings of Muhurat buying and selling will likely be notified by the exchanges later.
